| Tulpehocken Chapter or Trout Unlimited |

| The west branch of the Ausable River in New York has a special place in my heart. First traveling to the area in 1981, and trying to make it up there every year there since, has given me a great appreciation for the area. It is all about the mountains, the people and the great fishing. Fishing begins around the first of May and can last until the snow flies. Small brook trout, large browns and rainbows can all be brought to the net. Snow pack and rain is important to keep the fishing consistent throughout the year. The pocket water is the best you will find in the east as you can see in these photos. When not fishing you can make your way to Lake Placid to do a little site seeing. In fact the west branch runs right by Whiteface Mountain and the Olympic Ski jump. If you would like more info on the fishing the Ausable just drop me an email. |
